There is nothing I can write in this moment that will convince anyone that my rambling opinions are worth reading. In fact, I've tried several times to craft an incredible captivator and only came to the realization that there's never a perfect way to start anything. And while I might be about twenty years too late to the concept of blogging, they always say the second best time to start is now.
If you're somehow unaware, stumbling aimlessly across the internet, having found yourself here without pretense, I'm an independent game developer. As of right now, I'm just over one full-time year into working on my first major release. I also have a graduate degree in the variety of digital production meets game studies, for whatever that's worth. All things considered, I don't necessarily know what I'm doing, but I play a lot of video games. Perhaps it goes without saying, but more generally, I'm a voracious consumer of content, a chronic overthinker, perpetual dreamer, and certified nobody.
It's the culmination of all those elements (and more, of course) that have led me to take up this likely-inconsequential practice. That being said, even in today's age I think a blog can be incredibly helpful to a creative mind. It'll give me an outlet for all my relentless diatribes and artistic musings. It provides a space for me to diversify my day-to-day. To strengthen my writing skills, too. Maybe it also helps justify just how much time I "research" games. Hopefully it presents an interesting collection of thoughts that may inspire someone like me to get out there and start creating.
